About

I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t thinking about architecture. I began this journey in Canada, where I was born and studied architecture and art history at the University of Alberta. After working in Edmonton and Vancouver, I attended graduate school at the University of Texas at Austin where I received my Masters of Architecture. After living and practicing architecture in Austin for sixteen years, I moved to Santa Barbara, California where I established my own firm in 2002. I have been an AIA member since 1992.

My practice is rooted in the belief that communication is the key to unlocking creative design solutions. Observing and listening are the mainstays of a collaborative relationship. I value the points of view of my clients and the entire team involved with the design process.

I use sustainable design principles, including energy-efficient strategies, passive solar design, and intelligent material choices.  I strive to create timeless, buildings with materials and forms that provide a strong sense of place as well as provide my clients with a positive and enriching architectural experience.
